Ahead of a new album out in spring, we're releasing single SHARKFINS IN THE SKY.

The music is a joyful mesh of New Wave guitar, 60s mellotron and disco's offbeat hi-hats – with guitarist Gary Parkinson guesting on lead vocal while front-man Hywel Griff joins the skintight rhythm section. Meanwhile, the lyrics tell the sad tale of a shooting at an ice-rink disco – with a desperate determination to help those in need.

And before that, having had a BBC Wales session on Mon 28 Nov including five (count 'em) Howl Griff songs plus interviews, we've released our latest completely-gratis MPfree – see the MPfrees page for details.

After receiving much press and public acclaim for our debut, Welsh-language record Howl Griff, we unleashed our second album The Hum – this one in English. Along with single releases Bluebirds and Sunrise, the album has garnered heady acclaim.

"Bloody lush – a new band we love," said Lauren Laverne on her daytime BBC 6music show. She's not alone in liking what she hears. "Life-affirming," wrote The Independent. "Gorgeous harmonies and warm '60s melodies – the result is quite lovely," added Stuff magazine. "A Welsh Brian Wilson," claims Clash magazine.
